Security requirements

To be eligbile for a discount your locks must meet the standards described:

Exit Doors
These must be fitted with an approved 5-lever mortice deadlock, or hook bolt mortice deadlock which conform to British Standard BS3621.

Note: This applies to single Doors. If your home has any double doors you must contact us for the minimum security requirements.

Sliding Doors
These must be fitted with a hook bolt mortice deadlock which conforms to British Standard BS3621 or with two key operated patio locks, one at the top and one at the bottom of the door.

Windows
All basement, ground floor and accessible upper floor windows, fanlights and skylights must be secured by key operated window locks. All louvre windows must have panes of glass securely glued into their brackets or frames.

Aluminium or UPVC Doors and Windows
If doors are not fitted with the type of lock listed above, they must be fitted with a manufacturer's key operated 'multi-point locking system'. Windows must be fitted with locking handles or a manufacturers' key operated 'multi-point locking system'.

Locks that conform to the British Standard will bear the BS 'kite mark'.
